About Us

The Apostles Youth Organization is a church – based youth organization under the supervision and administration of The Our Lady of Fatima Mission. Founded by Armando Cruz Jr. and Rev. Fr. Ferndinand S. Mendez together with Kris Sales, Jeffrey Saavedra, Melvin Agustin, Roberto Sales Jr. Established and officially formed in Estrella Homes, Toclong, Kawit in 2012.

The Formation

As the hype of the recently concluded Lenten Celebration in Estrella continues days after, Armando Cruz Jr. asked some of his former companions in the apostles reenactment to convene and discuss about the possibility of forming a group that would represent the youth. Kris Sales, Jeffrey Saavedra, Melvin Agustin and Roberto Sales Jr. came in and convened with Armando Cruz Jr. and decided to create an organization for the youth. And the rest was history.

Humble Beginnings

It was in the summer of 2012 during the week long celebration of Lenten Season in The Our Lady of Fatima Mission Estrella Homes Toclong, Kawit, Cavite wherein Vigils, Prayers and other church activities were being observed; the humble beginnings of T.A.Y.O. was conceptualized In the latter part of the activities; a group of 12 individuals particularly young adult men were asked to volunteer and act as the 12 apostles of Jesus portraying a scene from the bible which was reenacted in the washing of feet.

It was there that the good relationship and experiences among the people involved created a special bond. The effect was tremendously felt which unite their spirit, heart, and mind. And through the guidance of the holy spirit and their faith they continue their calling that led to the formation of the youth organization.

The group was named The Apostles Youth Organization in which the inspiration obviously came from The 12 Apostles of Jesus.

Membership and Officers

As soon as T.A.Y.O. was formed it was decided that Armando Cruz Jr. would be the Youth Director or CHAIRMAN of the group, Kris Sales would become the President, Melvin Agustin the Vice President, Jeffrey Saavedra Secretary and Roberto Sales Jr. Treasurer.

Two other companions in the reenactment namely Nelson Pato and Raven Louie Balid, joined in as well and membership was also opened to all young adults men and women ages from 10 and up.

Plans & Projects

Pera sa BasuraThe very first project that T.A.Y.O.organized was a fund raising activity called “PERA SA BASURA” done twice a week.

It is where the youth would gather used pet bottles, paper products, tin cans and other junk material and sell them to the nearby junk shop right after.

The second project launched and spearheaded by T.A.Y.O. in cooperation with the USAR CRG of Dr. Ricardo Delos Santos. Headed by the late Sir Crispin Bohol was the “DISASTER TRAINING SEARCH & RESCUE”.

It is a course given to provide awareness and know how to respond during disaster and calamities.

First Aid, Bandaging, Smoke Diving, Rappelling, Triage, Fire control, and Different types of carry in transporting patients were taught.

The third and biggest project launched by T.A.Y.O. was the “E-Dalaw Project”.

It is considered as the fruit of labor of the organization because the funds collected from Pera sa Basura Project were used to buy two sets of desktop computers amounting to 25,000 PESOS.

The “E-Dalaw Project” is a joint project launched by T.A.Y.O. in cooperation with the City Jail of Bacoor. Wherein we donated two sets of desktop computers to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Bacoor.

The successful launching of the said project paved the way to other branches of BJMP to continue and adapted the E Dalaw concept.

It has been the greatest project and achievement done by the organization to this date.
